If you know the field of research well, a bit of background on the methodology can be important to better understand the implications of the study.

In my experience, understanding what was done and what came of it, is usually comprehensive. The details on how it was achieved or where (questionable) shortcuts were employed are often quite arcane to someone, who is not from that field of research.

Or plan features ahead instead of just starting coding wild stuff, that eventually miraculously somehow, somewhat works.

Many devs just want to build shiny fun new projects and switch to the next shiny fun new project, when the difficult optimization needs to be done.

I have to favorite methods for preparation:

1. Halved on a baking tray in the oven with salt pepper and oluve oil. Wenn they are nicely browned, I add balsamic cream and eat them like that.

2. The other way is cooking them whole for about 15 mins till slightly underdone and finishing them in a lot of cream with bacon bits and pepper.

My Bolivian Rainbow plant, which I’m growing out of a soda can as part of the #pepperinacanchallenge is developping very well.

It got to about 40 cm and just got it’s first flowers.

One of the first flowers dried out, probably because it didn’t get watered as regularily, while I was on holiday.

Now, that it’s gotten a bit warmer, my #pepperinacan has spent a few weeks outside in the sun. The main plant has grown very well and a secound smaller one is thriving besides it.

The leaves are turning more and more violet, which is the standard colour for the bolivian rainbow chili plants.

I grow the plant in a soda can, because it’s part of the #pepperinacanchallenge

Update on my pepper in a can for the #pepperinacan challenge:

Two weeks after transplantation to the can, one of the two bolivian rainbow chilis has not survived the process. I was already expecting that, because it did have almost no developed rootsystem.

The other one seems to have adapted well. While it has not grown by much, the leaves have doubled in size. Probably, because we haven’t had much sun in the last few days.

Today, for the first time in my life, I had the opportunity to try a piece of jackfruit. I found it in a local asia shop and they sold me about a kilo for about 10€ (quite expensive).

I absolutely love the taste. It reminds me of banana and guava. I‘m pretty sure, that this is the same flavour, they use in haribo tropifrutti, but it‘s much better in the fruit. The consistency is a bit chewy, but very pleasant.

I made some cold brewed Sencha green tea in the fridge, which I brewed over the course of 48 hours.

I love, how the tea leaves swirl in the bottle, when agitated.

The tea has a strong sencha aroma, is slightly sweet and unami and has absolutely no adstringency or bitterness.

It`s an amazing summer time drink. Now all I need is some summer time weather...

Today I learned, that the secound, fainter rainbow has the colours in an inverse order compared to the bright one (I don`t know, if it`s visible on the foto).
