Initially it was just a follow button, same as Mastodon has, but all these corner cases pop up like what if you want to follow in more than one channel, or how do you move subscriptions around.

It works, but the more you flesh out its capabilities the more clunky it can get.

Specifically I tasked myself with getting a good workflow for items that are subscribed in multiple channels. The first version was horribly overcomplicated, and now I've been stuck poking at it for a few days until it feels simple and correct. It's taking some time.

It touches a lot of little spots, so a bunch of stuff is getting fixed along the way. So that's nice. 2026-09-20T17:50:29Z https://yabu.me/nevent1qqstlklrllwvtenvh5x5qefk7dplsuwcr8secmszkn344t8glg3hr0szyqyk6jxamfe2gzewgnapdjt7mnpzfnwxm8v86fcktfyygkyfpm06yqz4sj2 I don’t have an autism diagnosis but when I was eight years old I owned a deck of playing cards and every time I was finished playing with them I would put all the cards back in the order they were in when it was first opened. 2026-09-20T04:40:56Z https://yabu.me/nevent1qqstfz9fjvrxaehzs8hljtjhws3q0x8ay4syfjajwa0lw5cxfvcychczyqyk6jxamfe2gzewgnapdjt7mnpzfnwxm8v86fcktfyygkyfpm06yt08023 The music is “Katmandu” by Bob Seger but the lyrics go “Crab Rangoon” 2026-09-18T23:10:15Z https://yabu.me/nevent1qqsz3dv8040sl742px5z920n2ef3spdqkk60ckzhppnjhl6vz4yk4sgzyqyk6jxamfe2gzewgnapdjt7mnpzfnwxm8v86fcktfyygkyfpm06ynem82n In reply to nevent1q…w6s2
_________________________

Big Tech has put a lot of effort into making people feel helpless around algorithms, like they're unknowable autonomous systems that nobody should be held liable for. 2026-09-17T15:32:31Z https://yabu.me/nevent1qqsyvsukdngcckf0y5dw0jw9pgencemmpza224kaphuh7atpdp3kllgzyqyk6jxamfe2gzewgnapdjt7mnpzfnwxm8v86fcktfyygkyfpm06yakezrl In reply to nevent1q…ezwv
_________________________

...or settle out of court for a billion dollars.
