Nice! No, doctors told me I had to get the surgery and stop computing (which is ridiculous given it's my job)... I struggled for years with the pain. They said there was no other cure, and even after surgery I'd have to give up computing.

Customised my #keyboard + dongle firmwares recently and flash'em on my keyboard pieces! Display on the dongle now shows WPM in real-time and other neat stuff. Running ZMK + Prospector dongle firmware code. This status screen is called Operator (first image).

I haven't been tracking my WPM until now, but apparently I am regularly hitting 130-150 WPM... sheesh.

I love open source & standards because it allows for customization and choice, where vendors prefer lock-in and lack choice.

I've been using this keyboard for maybe 10y, got it repaired, upgraded and retrofitted recently, and it's still kickin'. Gone from wired to now wireless, and has some of the softest switches around for RSI/carpal tunnel syndrome (kailh speed coppers).

My friend helped me 3D print the custom casings and build it for me (cats and soldering irons don't go well together). Plan to use this for another 10y or more, and keep repairing/retrofit upgrading as needed.

Useful if you have an individualized diet/plan from a nutritionist, or want something a bit more customized to your requirements. Factor in what's important to you, not some generic thing.

Something like this is so easy to build for yourself with all the AI tooling now available. Multimodal models that support image recognition are great for this.

Wholecoiners are:
- ~0.6% of all bitcoin owners.
- ~0.008% of the human population: 1 out of every 12,300 people on Earth.
- ~85x rarer than millionaires.

The number keeps falling every cycle, not increasing: as scarcity in mining, lost coins, institutional custody take over. Wholecoiners are one of the most exclusive clubs on earth and gets more and more rare over time.

Agreed, as Zapstore (npub10r8…t2p8) said, striking a balance between permissionless and secure, is a real challenge. I think WOT is useful but things like signatures far more reliable (so should be made more prominent). In the end it'll be a balance of all things, I guess: WOT, comments/ratings, dev signing... all these things combined put together a clearer picture.

Thanks, I don't disagree with any of this, in fact I found myself in this exact scenario: I don't have Wisp installed and was looking to install it to try it.

But when I searched, all I found was the April Fool's version rather than the official one. So if you were a new user, all you would've found would been that "fake" version.

I've just tried again and I think since you cleared that up, it's now returning the official one again in the search results.

The github being different definitely rang alarm bells for me, but you have to already be aware of an author's github username/official repo.

These aren't easy problems to solve, but hopefully something that can be improved over time by way of visual warnings/flags/etc, when strange apps pop up like that! From memory there used to be some way to view something like a WOT for the app/publisher? I didn't see it just now on Wisp, but I recall something like that in past zapstore versions... that would also be very handy to make more prominent on the main app listing page.

So if you check the comments on Cake Wallet in the zapstore, you'll see many users commenting the same, that on updating (I presume installing will do the same), Google Play Protect shows this:

It never used to show that for past versions (up to 6.0.1 I think were fine).

As for "another market", I meant another app store/marketplace, like F-droid or APKPure, or just plain ol' Play. Thing is, Play seems to lag behind zapstore on many apps, so one of the reasons I actually appreciate using zapstore is that oftentimes the builds are more current than my region's Play store.

I definitely do appreciate that nobody has the resources that Google has, and in truth I actually don't know why these particular versions after 6.0.1 were flagged.

Thankfully the fake Wisp publisher doesn't seem to have malicious intent, and was done moreso by accident than on purpose. However this does kick up a whole bunch of questions for Zapstore (npub10r8…t2p8):

- Shouldn't there be some kind of manual approval when app names collide with pre-existing ones?
- How can you let a different publisher publish an app with the same ID `com.wisp.app` as a pre-existing, trusted package from the original dev utxo the webmaster 🧑‍💻 (npub1utx…50e8) ?
- There are literally zero flags/alerts/warnings on the interface when browsing this duplicate app.

Another example is Cake Wallet Cake Wallet (npub1lsr…m040), for the past few versions Google has flagged this as a malicious app (it wasn't the case before), so I have avoided upgrading, even though I originally installed the zapstore version. If it's not fixed soon I will have to uninstall then re-install via Play or another market (annoying as then a full re-sync is required).

To date I have enjoyed using zapstore, but I feel like this is a great lesson learned to tighten up some of the security measures so we maintain high trust in what is published there.

Update: if you run a relay and have the capability to block based on payload (i.e., filtering from event.content strings), this simple regex will stop all these bots:

These two payload headers are used by all of them that I've found so far. After adding that to wss://nostr.superfriends.online, no more of those posts are getting through--at least for now.

Likewise, if you're annoyed by seeing these posts on your feed and your nostr client can filter posts, add those to your filter list.

• magic bytes: PARS (0x50415253), version 1 (LE uint32)
• 9-byte header, 660 bytes of opaque payload

Whatever this "PARS" is, these headers are now being blocked from my relay until I have more evidence that this isn't nefarious or spammy behaviour.

I'll take another look at robosats and others when I have some more time!

I think if Thorchain came out with XMR support that'd be one of the easiest and quickest routes, however they do get a lot of criticism for being a funnel for criminal assets. Whenever platforms are exploited or rugged, it often goes via Thor. That may cause them some extra pain when implementing XMR as it would be a natural avenue for asset laundering on a larger scale.

There's a few I've checked in the past, like bisq, but it just felt so awkward, spread and prices so poor, that I just didn't want to try it out. I feel that simpleswap is somewhat similar to this, but I haven't tried it either.

It's been an amazing upgrade so far to my workflow. Really is a leap ahead in agentic management. I've noted marked improvement in tool calling, planning and management.

It's now my main orchestrator, used to spawn other subagents to carry out tasks. It manages everything from GLM-4.7, 4.5, 4.5-flash models, to local ollama models like smollm2 and llama3.2.

Planning and executing complex tasks really feels a hell of a lot smoother with GLM-5 versus GLM-4.7 which I was previously using for this kind of work.

A few weeks ago, my precious bespoke designed and hand-built keyboard which my friend made for me around 10 years ago broke. 😿⌨

I'm now stuck on a conventional chiclet keyboard, I keep fucking making typos and spacebar doesn't work cause I don't slam it hard enough. Fucking disgusting.

I went a bit mental, because it literally cured many years of RPI/carpal tunnel syndrome. It sounds a bit stupid, but I cannot imagine my life without that keyboard. :meow_bongo_keyboard:

Doctors and specialists couldn't cure my RSI for years: they told me to stop using computers and keyboards: absolutely retarded comment to make to someone who's entire life was spent working on a computer.

A quality ergonomic keyboard and mouse cured what doctors said could not be fixed... lesson in there.

I designed this keyboard and selected every single component with the minimal force needed to reduce friction/wrist pressure/finger travel: from springs, to caps, to size, to physical form factor and split... including custom firmware based on open source... it is very much a reflection of myself and my friend who helped design and build it.

Thankfully I got in touch with my pal, and he was more than happy for me to ship it back to him for a full repair and we've designed some upgrades to retrofit it!

In a few weeks I will get it back, as a completely wireless device! I am beyond hyped. I will post an update with pics when it's back in its new wireless form!
