I travel for myself, to understand who I am and to help those less fortunate than me.

I would have honored a great person, Khaled Mohamad al-Asaad.

He was a Syrian archaeologist who headed the antiquities in the ancient city of Palmyra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

He told me to wait, the landlady would arrive; In the meantime he offered me some delicious yogurt, the best Turkish medicine I know!

The arrival of Bircan, my hostess, was a ray of sunshine that pierced my heart, curing all my ailments from the groin area upwards in one fell swoop.

I couldn't share my groin pains with anyone else, I was alone, since I had left Greece every presence of bikepackers!

Cycling towards Izmir I passed by the town of Soma, where I had found accommodation with a family thanks to the Warmshowers application.

I had managed to get back on my feet thanks to the loving care of Büşra, his mother and the mythical cat Eros; Unfortunately, I was left with an annoying pain in my groin.

My cell phone didn't stop flashing: each message was an increasingly pressing invitation to go back, to be examined. I could already see the mother's rolling pin, like Thor's hammer, crossing the Dardanelles strait at full speed!

I had been sick, for the first time during my long bike trip, I had been really sick.

I had left the beautiful Istanbul after a week of revelry incompatible with my life as a cyclist.

When I left, my body stuffed with kebabs, weissbier and sleepless nights had not withstood the ups and downs of the beautiful but very tiring hills of the province of Yalova, whose panorama reminded me of my beloved Cinque Terre.

I visited the memorial of the Nova Festival massacre where Hamas killed 364 people and kidnapped 40 more participants who were just having fun there!

I partecipated to many music festival when I was at the age of the killed boys and girls and I was very touched in the bottom of my heart during the visit!

I was last week on the Persian Island of Qeshm and I loved its UNESCO Geopark, Canyons, Rock formations, Beaches and sparkling people community!

Many young people let crazy Tehran to live a new and peaceful life on Qeshm!

I have been cycling to super desertic areas full of rocks, mud and dust!
