I was almost always in a bra even while sleeping. Menopause gave me some relief from chronic pain and swelling. Erratic hormone shifts from PCOS coupled with fibrocystic breast tissue was something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.

Plus being brutally mugged by the tit fairy during puberty gave me an awful lot of bulk to deal with. So as much as I wished I could go without a bra it really wasn't an option.

Back in the 1980's I was turned down for jobs because I was a woman, but they used "safety" as the justification.

Several different employers told me directly or indirectly that I would be a "distraction" to the other people working on the crew.

Another told me I was "too pretty" and I would get raped on the jobsite.

I had some job interviews that turned into request for prostitution services.

Mind you I wasn't searching in the male entertainment field, I never interviewed at strip clubs or massage parlors or anything like that.

These were basic jobs in manufacturing and industry.

I am beyond angry at the moment, not quite at full-on rage yet, but damn close.

So… my elderly mother is a breast cancer survivor, and she has had chemo and a double mastectomy.

Due to concerns over certain symptoms my mom was having, her primary care doctor set her up with an MRI scan of the upper chest area to observe the remaining breast tissue since mom does not have enough left to do a mammogram on.

Several months of phone tag later, and no appointment.

My mom tells the doctor the she hasn’t managed to get the scan yet. The Doctor calls to find out why, and she is told by the radiology department that something was not done right on the request form, and that it needed to be re-done. Doctor re-submits the request and still no response.

Doctor calls the radiology department again for clarification and is told that the wording is wrong. The doctor was told that there was some confusion about what she wanted done.

What the doctor was apparently informed was that if she wanted the scan done she would need to use the term “CHEST TISSUE” instead of “Breast tissue.” Or it would not happen.

SO… Basically my mom ‘s health care is being held hostage by gender nazis.

I gave an elderly lady that I know a ride to her local library last year because she needed to get her card renewed, and then I saw this display. Notice where it is posted, this is the side of the service counter and everything is down at child's eye level. OMG! you too? I thought it was just me. After I caught that damn virus I swear I lost at least a decade somewhere. I was already managing a couple of chronic conditions, and then Covid mugged me with a baseball bat. My digestion is shot, and I never did completely get my sense of smell back, I have no appetite, and I starved off a large chunk of muscle mass without even noticing or feeling it. The weird part is the sense of smell and the appetite are intermittent. Like a short in an old radio. Every so often something will jog the circuits just right and I suddenly get a signal. I can smell food and I realize that I'm really Seriously starving. AND then it dissappears again for a week or more.

The car headlights have gotten so bad I don't drive at night anymore. When I get the beams in my eyes they almost completely blind me for several seconds. It's scary as hell.
