Ceylon cinnamon is sourced from Sri Lanka. It is known as 'true' cinnamon and has a mild, floral scent and flavour. It is supplied in quills of many thin layers. Chances are most have only encountered cassia 'cinnamon.'

A classic, but slightly before my time as a ham beginning in 1978. However, when I was a young'un, the Clegg FM-DX was a hot ticket and VERY expensive. Fully synthesized, so no crystals required. Made 35 watts output, massive power for such a radio back in the day, 10-15W was more common. $645 when new in 1975, the equivalent of $USD4050 in 2026.

It's been blissfully quiet around here since Mr Bastard was charged. He was advised contacting me would be Witness Intimidation, which NSW courts take seriously. Looks like that quiet is going to continue.

But how we got here, getting the courts to deal with the abuse and harassment of a woman, has been ARDUOUS. I had to accompany her to the police station to get the complaints properly registered.

This magistrate said 'nup, we're done.' Mr bastard was found guilty, conviction recorded, and sentenced to a 2 year Community Corrections Order. The jail time was suspended in lieu of successful completion of the CCO.

He has to report to his local cop shop 3x/week and refrain from all contact with his sister... and me. If he breaches the CCO he can go to prison for up to 5 years.

OKAY! We have a result for Mr Bastard. He has breached AVOs against him which protected my now former neighbour on a few occasions, The courts have been too lenient with him, giving him Sec10 dismissals on mental health grounds. A Sec10 waives the penalties and does not record a conviction. He's taken this to mean if he behaves wacko in court, he can get away with anything.

Welp, that's over with.

Adjoining my matters, he was charged with yet another AVO breach against his sister.

Neighbour lady was terrified of this guy, so she asked me to stop him approaching her front door, screaming and pounding on it like he did on the previous day. Ever accommodating, I did just that. BMARC has two DR-1x repeaters because a way-too-enthusiastic new member gifted the club one and an FT-1D because he was certain C4FM was the nek big thang. One is on air in auto FM/C4FM (but no internet connection). We bought another DR-1x because they were cheap as chips and we needed a frequency agile backup FM repeater. Can't beat 'em. 500g pork mince (I buy pork roasts and mince on the KitchenAid beast) and assure about 30% fat. Pork mince from the grocery is too lean. About 10g crushed fennel seed, onion powder, oregano, 2 eggs and 1 cup breadcrumbs. 100ml passata. About 3tbs olive oil on my hands makes the meatballs moist and prevents sticking to my fingers while rolling. About 20 min at 200°C. Tossing the meatballs with a drizzle of xv olive oil makes them pretty and tasty. Serve with spag & red sauce.

They were so pissed off that they threatened to void my warranty. So I had a quiet word with Powerwall support about Australian Consumer law and Fitness for Merchantability and how much trouble I just saved them. There was no apology but they withdrew the threat to void the warranty. Tesla service saw me coming with my warranty claim on the bad Powerwall... and didn't dick me around MUCH, just 6 months waiting...

I found one on eBay and repaired the Gateway while Tesla had their thumb up their butts. I patiently waited, with my Gateway1 working again, for Tesla to decide to replace our gateway1 with a gateway2. When they showed up to replace te Gateway, the Tech was stunned/livid that I repaired the thing. That's how closely they guard their service information.

Yup, it's handy information. Tesla don't really want anyone to know how to do diagnostics on their kit, be it cars or batteries.

We originally had a Gateway1 with our first Pw2. It had a Neurio brand power meter in it, but it was made specifically for the Tesla Gateway1. Tesla did not stock Neurios for spares. Neurio ceased production of the special meter so Tesla could not buy any more. When our Neurio quit, the Gateway1 became unrepairable. Tesla proposed 6 months to repair.

While investigating a monitoring app called NetZero, I find this in-depth analysis of the performance of 2000 Powerwall2s which uses data obtained by the NetZero app.

Our 2019 battery was built in early 2019 per the TG119 date code and appears in the red box in the retention analysis. If you have a late 2018 or 2019 mfd Pw2, check the degradation and pester Tesla about early replacement now.

We've been accumulating Tesla Powerwall2 batteries since well before Elon went full nazi. The 2019 battery had been rapidly losing capacity, down 27% in June 2024. The 2018 battery had only lost 3%. The warranty specifies above 70% at 10 years.

Been bugging Tesla about replacing the 2019 battery. Finally got them to do it today. Brand new battery with 103% of rated capacity.

Pleased I got them to do it before Tesla collapses. When the car co fails the energy products div won't be far behind.
