I would advise generally putting the mounted directory out of the way in its own folder, so it getting stuck doesn't impact you browsing home - then you won't having any problems killing sshfs and remount.

Those typically only store 5Wh-20Wh and have heavy losses due to typically having to boost ~3.2V to 5V or even to 12V or 20V.

20Wh doesn't seem like a lot of power, but that will light a somewhat bright LED for >24hr.

But 20Wh won't give more than an hour or two of runtime with most computers (of course the most power efficient CPUs are made useless by proprietary degeneracy).

Microprocessors like Arduino's or RP2040 will last a long time on 20Wh, but those aren't complete computers.

LiFePO₄ batteries are finally getting cheaper - ~1000Wh is available at a very good price, same as ~4000Wh, which would give a GNUbooted ThinkPad quite a good battery life.

Portable generators deliver a lot of power, but you need to keep fueling them up if you actually use them and most cheap models need servicing after only a few days or weeks of continuous runtime.

LiFePO₄ batteries combined with solar panels and a battery charger can be very competitive with a generator if you don't use much power - as appropriately specced, you can get a runtime that is indefinite with no fuel costs.

Unlike generators, you can actually slap some solar panels onto the balcony or veranda of an apartment if that area gets enough sun - but that's not allowed, as how dare you avoid paying power suppliers their scam prices.

You also need a decompiler, but that still doesn't produce the source code and it can't magically restore the comments either.

It takes hundreds to thousands of hours of de-compilation and reverse engineering work to go from object code, back to real source code with comments.

The AGPLv3 does not force server operators to share source code - it just makes a condition of a license that modifications are only permitted if the author agrees to offer their modifications to those who do their computation on such server (the server operator even can choose to cease modifications forever and delete any modifications to comply with the AGPLv3 if they don't want to offer modifications to their users).

In the current world, there would be only a total loss and no gain for software if copyright was abolished, as companies would take every last copyleft free software program and make them proprietary.

The only case where abolishing copyright would be beneficial, is if every software user would refuse to accept software unless it was free.

If it's a custom spring that is not stocked, $500 is about double what it costs to get 1-20 of a custom spring manufactured (depending on the size).

There is the remote possibly that they got the manufacturing quoted and doubled the price for the install, but more likely they have the spring in stock and are just overcharging

The UK is planning on requiring either an Android or iOS demon rectangle to be able to work or accept unemployment payments in the future.

Describing something that Tivo didn't do, as "Tivoization" is clearly confusion.

The link I posted above describes the only case where detailed information is provided I've found and the scheme described was where Tivo would give you the source code and installation information for the mostly free software OS, but on compiling and installing such OS, with or without changes, the proprietary software programs would stop executing.

I don't know if confident if Tivo ever setup such a scheme - do you have a link to exactly what Tivo did for a specific Tive model?

It's not Tivotization, as if it was tivotized, the unsigned binary would still run, but other parts of the system would cease to function.

It's a case of digital handcuffs - the software won't run without a signature and you don't have the key and how the source code that probably mostly, but not completely corresponds, happens to be free software doesn't change anything - as the software is only practically useful to run on certain model DSPs.

The software is rendered proprietary by digital handcuffs in that case, which is something else to Tivotization.

What Tivo originally did was to provide the source code and installation information for all the free software - but make all the proprietary software stop running (you would have a DVR that could run VLC, but you couldn't run any of Tivo's proprietary software for the purposes of inspecting it/the RAM contents to see what spying it did and for its replacement) - which the GPLv2 does nothing about, as the GPLv2 doesn't contain any requirement to agree to not sabotage the execution of the system's aggregated software; https://sfconservancy.org/blog/2021/jul/23/tivoization-and-the-gpl-right-to-install/

Tivo later decided to intentionally infringe copyright by infringing the GPLv2 with future Tivo models, by refusing to provide the complete corresponding source code and installation information (the software was handcuffed - you needed a signing key for it to execute) and as a result, Tivotization is commonly confused with Tivo's GPLv2 infringement.

It is a case of digital handcuffs - there is source code that is claimed to correspond to the binaries and it can be compiled into a binary - but you can't run it on most of the relevant sound cards, as you need a private key that Intel refuses to provide (the binary can be made to execute on some SBC's and certain chromebooks, as Intel has provided the private key, but of course other parts of those are handcuffed).
