That happened in a women’s domestic violence refuge in Dublin. The man has a certificate, issued to him under the terms of the GRA, that says he is a woman. That’s how he was able to be a resident in a women’s refuge. He is a fit, well-built man in his thirties. His victim, also a resident in the refuge, was a 60-year-old woman of slight stature. Prior to the passing of the GRA, that woman could have reasonably expected to be safe from male violence when she was living in a women’s refuge. Not anymore.<br/><br/>&gt;At the man’s subsequent trial and conviction for assault, the court heard how he had beaten his victim to the ground, sat upon her, punched her repeatedly to the head and ripped clumps of hair from her scalp. She is a powerhouse.<br/><br/>&gt;Kellie-Jay and I do not agree on everything. In 2024, she encouraged American TERFs to vote for Donald Trump. I was not about to do that, and I didn’t (though I didn’t vote for Harris either). Regardless of any political disagreements, there can be no doubt whatsoever that she has been one of the loudest and strongest voices in standing up for women and children, globally. She doesn’t compromise and she doesn’t take any shit. The Minnesota Vikings American football team shared a video of its cheerleaders, most of them the usual perky, fit, athletic young women, but now with the addition of two men, Blaize Shiek and Louie Conn.<br/><br/>&gt;I’m sure that there’s a whole discourse among NFL fans that I’m not alert to. But the first I saw of it was Billboard Chris, a Canadian man who for some years now has travelled the world wearing sandwich boards with slogans such as “no child can consent to puberty blockers”, and engaged in conversations with all and sundry, many of them filmed and put on social media. Chris is a social conservative who blames most or all of transgenderism on “feminists”. For him, the problem with these young men is that they are dancing “like girls” and that’s not OK.<br/><br/>&gt;By one analysis, Billboard Chris is a “gender conservative”– he thinks that only women (female people) should be permitted to do “feminine” things, in this case to bounce and wiggle and shake pompoms. Transactivists are “gender essentialists” – they think that if you bounce and wiggle and shake pompoms then whatever you were “assigned at birth”, you’re a girl. I&#39;ve having them recently, with individuals who who simply not listen earlier, such as two gay men from San Fran. At first, the reaction was: &#34;oh, you&#39;ve become so conservative&#34;. But then, I compared what truly conservative cultures, such as Iran do: *Trans away the Gay!* Next I cited the statistic that at least 40% of children being &#34;transitioned&#34; are Gay &amp; Lesbian youths. Etc, etc. One of my most important points was that *this was one of the major factors leading to Trump&#39;s election*. By the way, these guys were unaware of their Rep. Weiner&#39;s pro-pedo &amp; &#34;put MEN in Women&#39;s Prisons&#34; legislative antics.<br/><br/>I&#39;m also having these conversations with the friends who drove me to find Spinster because they &#34;didn&#39;t want to talk about it&#34;.
