Here's the patch that's been our lullaby at night for the past few weeks. Lots of happy accidents in this one, including I *think* a Pam's bug which caused it to fade to zero every two minutes. It's like it generatively broke itself into tracks. I like that so much I'm going to start doing it on purpose!

@nprofile…zw3r Thanks. I thought I had read that DRM removal with Calibre doesn't work on books published after a certain date. Am I misinformed?
Also, I don't own a hardware Kindle. I've heard of people buying an old one just to use Calibre. I guess that's an option.

The possible shady IP practices of AI vendors are a concern, but in the grand scheme of things I don't think they're the biggest one.

We need an actual IP attorney to weigh in, but you can certainly trademark existing words - consider "Apple".
So it wouldn't surprise me if you can in fact trademark an existing Unicode character.
Trademark doesn't prevent people from using your mark, it just prevents them from using it to offer competing goods or services in the same industry or market. Which is why my local fruit stand can still sell "apples".
