If only panels (“start” menu, systray popups) are black a switch to snother virtual desktop will fix it. This is only temporarily necessary. Merging the driver / uapi takes longer than anticipated/wished but eventually it will be merged.<br/>The DRM linux maintainers are uneasy about the use of unstable DRM uapi in the wider eco system. That’s the reason why the driver in upstream mesa is intentionally broken.
