Linux hit over 5% in USA desktop share, makes me think that MS Windows 11, with its lack of support for slightly older computers & increase in spyware built into the OS, is fueling migration. E.g. this desktop I built with an old but very capable i7-2700K CPU @ 3.50GHz, & recently added a Radeon RX7600XT gpu - Win11 is not compatible with it, but super happy to find that Ubuntu 24.04 running Steam & Heroic Launcher, I can run pretty much every game I needed Windows10 for.

If AOSP development is made less publicly accessible it does NOT " simplify things for developers" but rather it hinders it for de-googled privacy respecting ROMs and their device ports. The need for continued and ramped up efforts developing alternative mobile OS's, like Ubuntu Touch, Sailfish OS, Droidian, Mobian, Postmarket, etc. is even more apparent with this move by Google.

I also a couple years ago switched from Quickbooks to Adminsoft for my invoicing and accounting, when Intuit switched to subscriptions for cloud based service, instead of a one time small fee for local based that I prefer.
