All you should need to do is switch out podping.cloud for another fdqn https:// domain I'll give you (not making it public as it's not built to have an auth system).

The idea is that you can then run this yourself in your own infra stack (it's a fully self contained single container).

Just FYI the main reason I'm using the live chain is to nail down the behaviour when Resource Credits run out, this is hard to do in a strict testing environment but I think I have the behaviour now exactly what I want.

So I'm working on my new Podping HivePinger simple API system with the main idea that hosts can run it internally.

At the moment I'm working with a 180s de-duplication system and for live testing (because it's not a real test if you don't post to a blockchain) I'm reading live podpings and feeding them all in.

I'm seeing a lot of duplicates coming from the existing writers on podping.cloud. Some of this is legit but there's much more noise then their should be.

Adam: when you say you're running Alby hub at home your own Adam@ getalby address still uses Alby's API infrastructure. That is the thing they blocked me from using so my brianoflondon @ address became unusable for me even though I have an Alby node.

A small voltage node will not like getting the volume you will get.

I pretty much got about 80% of the work done on replicating the ORIGINAL pre-Nostr Alby API which all the podcast apps used to send keysend payments based on a custodial wallet model.

In my case the backend would be a wallet secured against your Hive account (which which is moving to a non custodial model over the next month).

I have most of the auth flow working, but then Israel was attacked by Hamas and Bumi went to war against me.

What a pity bumi (npub1glq…4zwa) and Alby (npub19vl…qjjz) banned Israel from Alby: I had a drop in replacement for a non custodial keysend wallet almost ready to go.

And even now I can't do the work to turn it on because testing without Alby during the transition is impossible FOR ME.

Alby completly screwed the entire world of Podcasting 2.0 and nobody should trust them for any business critical process.

What's the deal with Spotify video podcasts.

I really hate this but if I have a podcast feed on Barry Luijbregts (npub1fkf…84sp) but they want to have a Spotify Video feed, what are the options?

Start a spotify hosted video channel and just maintain spotify + open rss?

I'm loathed to do that but if they insist on video on spotify what choice do I have?
