Is your AI p(doom) > 0? And the headlong race toward AGI/ASI on the part of labs in the USA and China gives you the willies, especially because on all sides they regard it as winner-take-all?

Max Tegmark knows something about the nuclear arms race during the Cold War. And how the USA and the Soviet Union came to control the arms race *before* they trusted each other enough to draft a treaty.

He thinks this has great relevance to averting AI doom: https://youtu.be/aokxWiAh9ps?si=HEvF-0lkW48LYlp8

In this “neighborhood” now there are long wooden walls taller than a human emblazoned Barbara Kruger style with slogans challenging the idea of borders.

Obviously this has a strong political valence, especially in Germany now. But the text is in English exclusively! Do the brains behind this see immigration-wary compatriots as part of their audience? No, only anglophone cosmopolitans like me, it seems.
