As for it being good enough now to describe it as a good use case, I’ll have to disagree. Have you tested any of your own writing to see if the slander engine accuses you of being a clanker? If not then many have found it enlightening to do so. Students today are getting told by teachers that their essay has been failed by a bot that prognosticated an 80% chance their essay used AI. Even if accurate that means one in five such punishments are undeserved. And this disproportionally affects foreign and neurodivergent people with more formal language styles. Not to mention disfavouring people who refused to get AI to rewrite their essays to pass the AI checks. How ironic is that? Sadly this particular BS detection industry is itself BS which is only a problem when people in power ignore that glaringly obvious and easily verified fact in favour of absconding their own responsibility for detecting misconduct. One final question, if your submit an essay and your teacher asks AI to check it over for them, how do you know that your work isn’t being used as training fodder. Is that independently audited?
