I know that a major difference in British English is that mailboxes are called postboxes instead. Two of the three work fine in non-systemd environments.

PLM is intended to take advantage of interfaces currently only provided by systemd to enhance the experience.

Pretty much everyone has been using SDDM for ten years now. SDDM is even maintained by someone who is also a KDE contributor. And we have a LightDM greeter maintained by a different KDE contributor.

So if you want a "pure KDE" system (which I guess means maximizing components from the KDE project?), then use the LightDM KDE greeter.

Or just keep using SDDM. The Plasma integrations are still maintained and developed.
