I had him 2 or 3 years, but then some upstart stole his territory a few days before his chicks were due to fledge. First he left, then a day or two later, his mate left and I could hear the chicks go quieter and quieter over the next few days. I used to try to imtitate the &#34;peep peep churrrr&#34; noise, which according to this video may be the pitsupi jajaja call? Haha, was I saying, hey I&#39;m the predator (that gives you mealworms)? I don&#39;t suppose they even recognised it as an attempt to speak their language. Anyway, he couldn&#39;t really tell me from anyone else wearing a hijab in my garden, or at least, he used to ambush my mum thinking she was me. But when he was within earshot and I&#39;d call out, &#34;Tubbie! Wormies!&#34; he&#39;d fly to our garden and look out for me holding the worm tub. If the shed door was open, he&#39;d fly into it and hop about on the tub, because he couldn&#39;t open the lid. <br/><br/>I also had a semi-tame blackbird who would recognise my voice. I&#39;d move the worms around the garden and when he came in, I&#39;d click and point to where I&#39;d put the worm dish that day and he&#39;d fly straight to that part of the garden.<br/><br/>Both my tame blackbirds were killed by cats. One of them was tortured to death.<br/><br/>Keep your freaking cats indoors or get them a catio to keep wildlife safe! And now I get spuds growing there every year. At first I tried to get rid of them as they were in the way but they&#39;d always come back so now I just leave them to it and take whatever they offer. I&#39;ve been neglecting the garden this year, so most of the spuds are on the small side. <br/><br/>Tomorrow I&#39;ll try to make spicy wedges.<br/><br/>The soil here has too much clay to grow good carrots. I tried planting them in potting compost and gave them extra potassium phosphate, but they&#39;re always pathetic. They are kinda tasteless too. And yeah, that&#39;s where the obsession with wanting to learn Finnish when I was 16 came from haha 😅 After Häkkinen retired, McLaren got Räikkönen to replace him, but then he moved to Ferrari, the traitor, and I think that might have been when I gave up on F1 for good. Or it might have been before that. Edit: it was before that. He went to Ferrari in 2007, long after I gave up on F1. Look how Carney used anti-trumpism to quash the far right, even Australia did it last minute. Starmer had the chance to start turning the tide against the far right. Sure some people will take longer to convince that immigration isn&#39;t the cause of their troubles, and some will always be full of hate no matter what, but he could have made a start with those voters who aren&#39;t just out and out bigots.<br/><br/>It would help if the media wasn&#39;t just a mouthpiece for frogface, too. The left really need to get more media savvy. The right uses social media at the highest efficiency (see Cambridge analytica) and the left isn&#39;t going to fight that by sitting on their laurels. #LedbyDonkeys does really effective campaigns, but they don&#39;t get as much reach as Farage, because he knows how to play the game.
