I'm not anti the general field of Artificial Intelligence, it's an extremely interesting subject. I am deeply skeptical of the LLM/GPT products that are being deceptively sold to people as "AI solutions" or claiming to be the science fiction of Artificial General Intelligence. The cult-like following developing around them is even more disturbing, it is like something from Dune or W40K.

Please learn how these things actually work, even on a basic level, before making such wild claims.

I feel like the EU is too focused on free movement of capital, however I'm glad I don't have to use a backwards Irish bank for my current account. AIB still doesn't let you do SEPA transfers easily, which is ridiculous in 2025. I like being able to order supplies for my tiny business from people who won't make me pay through the nose like most Irish suppliers do.

I honestly think Scottish Independence and a United Ireland are more likely than a "United" Kingdom rejoining the EU. England (collectively) just can't see that being a well behaved member of the EU is a good thing. The EU has its problems but I think it's overall a net good for member states.

I have been messing around with "kiki: a tiny homepage construction set" again today. I have been hacking the code to pieces already! 🤓 (I added some JavaScript, sorry).

I love the customisable tags in the Bug markup languages but was a little disappointed at how tricky it is to add new multi line tags because of the software architecture. I did manage to do it successfully though!

Overall it's a great little toolkit and I might use it more in anger. Thank you vga256 (npub1yqw…ywz8) !

One and a half days of back to cycling commuting in Galway City. The cameras are back on the bicycle tomorrow. Don't fucking barge into my lane taxi driver, even if I am on a bicycle (Merchant's Rd ofc), you wouldn't have done it if I was in my car. After that, by Texaco, I had a van pull out turning right into my lane too and I was on the far left. I believe pulling out into oncoming traffic is against the rules.
