3) There are countless cases where people assets were confiscated (we wrote about some of them in the past).

Sometimes, this happens just because the provider knows the user's IP address and understands that there are no legal means for a user to appeal.

What likely happened in reality:

- Now, if you think there was some kind of careful judicial process to locate IRGC wallets and ban just them that is very unlikely.

- The freezes likely happen via AI and it won't selectively just freeze IRGC accounts or government entities. Such AI system would be to identify and flag anyone it believes to be Iranian.

- If AI knows the address of some Iranian exchange or anyone one for that matter they feel to be affiliated with the government anyone transacting with that entity is a target. And so are the entities transacting with those entities. Imagine the map here.

That's how sanctions work in practice. It’s an algorithm that is broad, automated and error-prone.

Here is what you should learn from it!

- stablecoins have ZERO privacy in their current form. anyone you transact with know everything about your past and future transaction history.

- stablecoins can be easily confiscated even in non-custodial wallet! Infact confiscating your bank balance is much more harder.

Some swap providers offer great rates… until they freeze your funds. That’s the part most apps don’t tell you.

Not all “DEX-like” swaps are truly decentralized.

- @THORChain like DEX is pure on-chain. No freezes.

- Intent-based systems (like @near_intents) have better rates sometimes… but freeze risk exists. Their product. Their rules. We don't think their model can be sustained without this.

Now, what we do though is show you the risk before you swap.

Most swap sites want you to connect your wallet first. That's when the data leak starts.

- device fingerprinting
- wallet address logged
- IP address tracked
- transaction history linked

Pretty much everything about you is leaked at this point.

The dark side of NO KYC crypto swaps you don't know about !

Most swap services for XMR (applies to all other as well) don’t ask for KYC.

Sounds good at first, but here’s what you don’t see.

1) No KYC, until there is KYC

Your funds get frozen and suddenly you’re asked to go through KYC. Either comply or lose your funds.

There are legit cases but also many many where funds endup confiscated because the provider knows the user has no real way to appeal.

That’s why :

- having a clear risk profile before the swap is critical. Users should understand risks before the swap.

- it’s important for users to understand that you’re not swapping with the wallet itself, but with a third-party provider, with its own rules.

2) Data Collection

Swap services collect users' data! Period.

In some cases without wallet provider even knowing about it.

When user requests a quote, the IP, device and other metadata get passed directly to the provider.

So if something goes wrong, not only funds get frozen, but the data can be passed to third parties as well.

3) Human Factor

Many swap providers endup exposing users unknowingly.

If swap is not integrated correctly on the wallet side it may end up being unsafe for people coming from conflict zones.

For instance, an unhonest provider may simply confiscate funds of the users whose IPs originate from conflict zones. Not because of risk, but because they can get away with this.

A user in Palestine, Iran, Sudan, Yemen, Afghanistan (and there are at least a dozen of other places like this...) have simply no legit means to question or appeal with the swap provider.

At Unstoppable we do it differently.

- we show clear risk profiles for each provider that makes it clear what risks are

- we don’t collect or pass your data to swap providers. we don't work with providers that insist on us passing the data.

It’s one thing to point out the flaws of someone BUT making up stuff is just PATHETIC!

We are by no means here to support @zodl_app team which had some kind of beef with @Zcash foundation or whatever.

We don’t give a shit to be honest and plainly said before … if you need a good wallet for ZEC or XMR for that matter, Unstoppable is the wallet!

Why would people spread fakery/gossip while disregarding the real flaws of their own? Who needs more drama? This reminds us of the fake news machine where they throw bones to divert attention from real stuff.
