The difference between the free and paid tiers is mostly down to users, there are a few differences as far as file upload limits and the like, but there's not technically a storage cap, so long as your files are under 5MB on the free tier

I do have the apps installed on all of my devices, but on Windows and macOS I mostly stick to using them in the browser since it's really just an electron app

Throwing all of this into Notion means I can combine a lot of that into one place. It's not everything, I still have apps like Anybox, Mela, Foodnoms, Copilot, and Things for management of certain things, but the bulk of what was handled by Obsidian, Trello, and Fantastical are now all being handled by Notion and Notion Calendar

Do I love that Notion hasn't expanded support from Cron to non-Google Calendars? No. Do I love that Notion Mail will only support Gmail right away like Skiff? No.

I've historically had a rather shaky relationship with Notion, I've always found that it's trying to do too much and that I would just get completely lost in the app and it would just make me less productive overall

Now that I've got so much stuff going on between the blogs, my business, personal stuff, and (soon) a new job, it's gotten really chaotic to manage across disparate apps

I'd have trouble keeping Trello and Obsidian in sync, I'd have issues syncing all of that with my calendars, etc

I feel like in the 120Hz debate people forget that there’s a difference between the group that can see the difference and the group that cares about the difference

I have a 240Hz monitor, I upgraded over my 144Hz monitor, I can tell the difference between those refresh rates, it’s amazing and made a notable improvement in gaming ability

The monitor also runs at 60Hz when I’m in macOS because I cheaped out on my USBC-HDMI cable

Can I tell? Absolutely. Do I care? Not at all.

The background is symmetrical, though, and gen AI is non-deterministic—it cannot generate the same thing multiple times

as far as AI generated content is concerned, I think it could be a composite with an AI image, but there are cases of artists mimicking the look

Fun fact: there were 9 different internal builds between this current release and the first public release

The disincentivisaiton of linking to other websites is fundamentally incongruent with the modus operandi of the internet, share content from other places, share content from people you respect, share ideas you think are good

And don't let anyone try and stop that

People are literally just like “here’s a thing I think is neat” and these people are going and trying to invalidate that appreciation for a nice feature

Replying “but Android had it first” to every post about features on iOS (sometimes incorrectly) is uninteresting, unhelpful, and annoying

Also stop assuming that people are posting about new features, some of these features people post about have been around 5+ years

Sometimes people like to bring up the thought and attention to detail given to particular features, even if they aren’t new

fair enough, I haven’t seen any other articles about other carriers not having this support already and I haven’t heard anyone talk about the lack of support anywhere other than on Google Fi (and Mint Mobile, it would seem)

Google’s messaging around their support of RCS has been somewhat deceptive and oftentimes generally obnoxious and that’s what lead me to this (admittedly hasty) conclusion

But if it truly isn’t their fault then it’s an unfair assumption based off my skepticism

I’ve had RCS enabled for months in the beta on AT&T

Not saying they did, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they acted slowly on this to be able to blame Apple one last time

definitely, right now I’ve got a control center button to open the app, but I plan to expand the functionality through other widgets and stuff, the actual app itself isn’t necessarily the important part, it’s about getting the most relevant info to you right now

I don’t intend this to fully replace your main weather app, but more focus on “I’m about to step outside, what’s the weather right now” kinda thing

This also means that they can be added as Lock Screen toggles (which is how I am using them)

Both will be available in later builds

Yes I stayed up way too late figuring this out, no I didn’t think it would take this long, yes it was actually really simple and I was overcomplicating it
