You won’t find this in any cutout bins. 1988 Festival of the Swamps. These were painted by Lyx and I with the help of other swamplings and the records were painted while spinning on a turntable. Then we would play them on several old turntables both in Swamp fest performances and in live radio broadcasts for the Swamp Radio network. Luckily with the world’s best thrift store down the street we had easy access to old turntables.

First day of the farmers market in Viroqua. They made the spaces a foot narrower this year, I really had to squeeze myself in. It was encouraging to see a lot of new faces. Now to activate my social mode after a long winter of mostly being alone.

My faithful Mazda market truck is passing the torch to my new (actually one year newer than the Mazda) market truck. I've been stressing about finding a couple sets of muscles to help me move the topper but a little leverage and I managed to make the swap myself. Now to figure out how to get the horrid air freshener smell out of the new one (which also has the best sound system I've ever had).

I just had an incredible piece of luck, I've been laughing for a half hour about it. There was a large dead elm that was leaning over my nursery plants and for the past month I've been trying to figure out how to cut it down without destroying my plants. We just had another intense wind storm and the wind brought it down and it fell exactly between two rows, only one crate of plants was knocked over and NOTHING was damaged. There is a StormGodddess. Finally something good happens!

Little by Little I'm getting pieces back online that haven't worked for years. 30 Samples for Orchestra is a sound palette where you can conduct not one but 30 orchestral samples by mousing over the images of the composers in the palette. When this was released in 1999 it went viral and got thousands of plays but like all web assets it disappeared into obscurity until flash was no longer an accepted web format.

I spent the morning giving away cuttings and peach pits at a local seed swap. Immaculately organized, hopefully the first of many in the future. Here, as in most small rural towns, one doesn't expect big turnouts, but the folks that do come are usually quite engaged and eager for more good things to happen. One word in this thank you note from one of the organizers made it all next level worthwhile.
