I’m reading a book and the author is truly and sincerely recommending linkedin as a way of connecting with people. :blobfoxdisapprove: The book was published in 2016 so I’ll cut him a little slack and assume that it was less vapid back then, but overall he’s still far too entrepreneur-brained for my tastes. Back to the library with this one!

A criticism or complaint that I see about blogging is that it often feels like yelling into the void with no response.
It’s true, but it is also a strange point to make. After all, It’s not as if normal social media is any different in that respect. You’re not any more likely to get a response here or on Bluesky or on Twitter, etc etc than on a blog.
The internet is like the atoms in a molecule: there’s a few connected points of interest, but it’s mostly empty space.
