Yeah, it kind of bugs me too: It's cool an' all, adds some variety to all the helmets, but what's the point of all that armour...?

It's a cast as well. Easier to make a hollow helmet that drill out a plastic helmet.

The next 3 weapon options for the Chaos Dreadnought's right arm:

A powerfist (cast from the left hand with the thumb moved) with itself options of a decorative chaos plate, combi-bolter, or heavy flamer.

Plasma cannon
This used part of the Helbrute I removed, and the coil was made of wire wrapped around some sprue.

Heavy Bolter
Completely scratch-built.

N-Gauge train display base.

Some backstory; All the model train stuff was my Grandfather's and was inherited by my Father. Unused for many years, one day we could not find it and believed it stolen.
Then, while looking for something else, I stumbled across it all.

I kept it quiet and built this display base for one of the trains. And then surprised my Father with it and a pile of boxes of N-gauge stuff.

Chaos Dreadnought.

I was not a fan of much of the Dark Vengeance Helbrute, so when it came time to build this one I made a few changes.

Hellblaster squad.

Painted in a bright yellow to represent a plasma like you see in the sun, with blue accents to represent the typical plasma colour associated with the plasmaguns they are wielding.

Also, their bases have patches of scorched grass to further call out the plasma use.

Gandalf in Moria.

I built this diorama to display the Mithril Miniatures Gandalf miniature.

I also took this as an opportunity for some extreme "Object Source Lighting". Painted as if only lit from the tip of Gandalf's staff.

Built as a Chrismas present a few years ago, the Dwarven on the column says "Merry Christmas".

Trench diorama.

Made as a prize for a friendly competition over on DakkaDakka.

I created this corner of a trench (at ~1:56 scale) which has had some significant repairs made from whatever scrap could be found.

Inside the trench you can find a spare sandbag, a water-cooled gun emplacement and a radio with notepad and cup of tea.

The Junkube.

This started as an experiment in making a regular shape with irregular parts: A cube from junk pieces.

I used a number of random pieces from my junk collection. Mostly hot-guled together, filled small gaps with grit, created the base and blended it in with PVA/tissue, and added electric arcs with a 3D printing pen.

It then became a terrain piece.

Feisar jetbike with Necron rider.

Starting from a Dark Eldar jetbike, I used the Wipeout series as inspiration to create a racing jetbike with some plasticard additions.

For the rider, I modified a Necron warrior at pretty much every joint to be sitting on the bike.

The plant on the base hides the support wire.

Space Marine Intercessor squad B (The Elements).

At the time I read something about squads made from a mix of chapters with their markings greyed out. I just added a little flavour to the mix.

Choosing a chapter to match each of the elements:
Raven Guard - Air
Imperial Fists - Earth
Salamanders - Fire
Ultramarines - Water ('coz blue)
Blood Angels - the elusive 5th element.

I also gave them flavourful bases.
