I literally don't understand people who cannot separate the art from the artist, but I get it if the artist actually did something bad. Not being able to separate art from the artist due to their sexuality/paraphilia is the worst example of this because of shows peoples blatant bigotry

Us youthlib advocates always ask ourselves why adults never "remember" that they were minors once too. But what we don't account for is the way they, and we, were raised.

When you are an infant, your behaviors are considered normal, but annoying, often made fun of or ridiculed by the adults in your life, even as you slowly start to understand what they say. Most parents don't punish their child for these behaviors (although some of them do, which is horrible), but the annoyance is there, and it could be felt by the child depending on how quickly they develop.

When you're a toddler or child and learning basic skills, you get punished for mistakes and normal behavioral reactions to said punishments. Adults at this point assume that the child or toddler should be old enough to "behave better", whether they realize it or not. Despite this, information is concealed from the child/toddler to "keep their innocence", despite the innate danger of keeping them unaware of real things that could happen to them.

During your teenhood, you usually realize how bad the parent-child system is, and wanting to rebel against the tyranny of your parent(s), you try to gain the independence that you were supposed to have. Parents punish teenagers harder due to this, believing that their child gaining independence is a sign of dangerous behavior or disagreement of their values. During the years of being punished and fed an agenda of adultist beliefs, in the worst case scenario, the teenager "matures", becoming an adultist just like their parent(s). If the child decides not to give up on their path to freedom, they'll likely have a community of teens who think the same way, and try to gain their independence before becoming an adult.

Everything that has lead to what an adultist beliefs is from the adults around them feeding them misinformation and propaganda since they were a baby. Some adultists had it worse or better, but the fact is that these experienced near the same punishments and talking points that many of us. Is this an excuse for their behavior? No, absolutely not. This is just a cycle I have noticed that had made people so anti-child and pro-parent. With this information, we should reconize it, and try to put a stop to the control adults have over the youth. When that happens, so many people who support our cause will emerge, and keep the freedom of children alive
