I thought package is a more general term while ports in FreeBSD means some scripts and utilities to make a package compile for FreeBSD. The package I will understand as a complied binary from pkg, which is produced from ports getting compiled, no? Thanks!

I think I got it. Yes I had to delete SMTP account and add back using POP instead. And there is a local copy of all mails in one Inbox text file, that's good. Only little remaining issue is that even I have downloaded all of the inbox locally, the copy in Inbox when I check online is still there, not deleted. But I guess I can just safely delete all since I know I have a local copy now.

I have Thunderbird but I set it to IMAP. I can set to POP3 but I think: 1. There is no bulk download mode? All emails will still be separately files? 2. The downloaded copy will be in the Thunderbird dataset and will only be loadable again with Thunderbird? I was thinking about a flat text copy so that I can grep/search when needed.

#AskFedi : How to bulk download all emails in inbox from #Yahoo email? I confess, I do not have a good habit of archiving and backing-up my emails. Now my inbox is booming and reaching ~10k emails since I have subscribed to a few mail lists. I do have #Alpine set up locally on my laptop to read them once in a while. I tried Select All and Save in Alpine however it is too slow and easily fail simply because it took so long that remote server would kill the connection.
#FOSS #Unix #Linux

I always was interested in and kept my eye out for the #Bodhi #Linux, mainly because they use the different and characteristic #Enlightenment #WM. #E17 was great when I tried it on bare metal and in #VM. What a big surprise! I just found out that #OpenBSD suspend to S3 and wake up worked flawlessly on my #ThinkPad T470S. #X with good old #Fvwm and network with WiFi worked fine after wakeup. Fn function keys for backlight. I previously tested #FreeBSD and everything was working great too which is no surprise at all. I don't know if it's because tp had better support for #Unix or because devs tend to use tp thus support them at greater effort. Hey fedi friends, what are the differences in USES and config options listed at #freshports for a #FreeBSD #port? I am familiar with USE in #Gentoo #Linux, which seem to be the config options here? For #Gentoo it is very common to use different USE settings for a packages, but for #FreeBSD I read from porter's handbook there are not many USE items and they looked different from the term in #Gentoo. I am still trying to wrap my head around what is happening that whenever I try to build a port, like #vim or #git in tiny flavors, I constantly noticed #Perl #Bash #lua #Rust #Python and all other seemingly unrelated stuff get pulled in. #BSD #RunBSD #Unix #FOSS

I thought I was good if I had the repo added and a upgrade would automatically finish the job. But I had to uninstall kmod and then reinstall from the kmod repo to get job done. Little bit lack of straightforward but much simpler than compiling from ports or just wait for R14.2 to EOL though.
