During the migration, the relay stopped responding to IPv6. It has been fixed for https://holos.social.
This issue helped find a bug in the app (crash during tunnel creation due to timeout).

The regression when composing is also fixed (save message into drafts prompted when posting).

For TestFlight users, the app is still waiting for validation but everyone who asked to join has been added to the beta testers group.

Regarding #AltStore: the current source works with AltStore Classic (sideloading via computer). AltStore PAL (EU marketplace) requires Apple notarization, which I haven't applied for yet.

Account recovery is now available: optionally back up your account data with a passphrase and restore it after a reinstall (strongly recommended if you have no cloud backup configured).

The relay stores your backup but cannot read it, it is encrypted on your device before upload (zero-knowledge).

Recovery is managed in Settings > Data & Backup.

In the next release of #Holos, Bloom filters will be enabled by default (can be disabled). This allows the relay to deliver only activities that matter to you, without ever knowing who you follow. In practice, this reduces data transfer around 97%, since only about 3% of activities are typically relevant during a sync.
The public timeline is replaced by a discover timeline tailored to your interests.

The filter is sent each sync and never stored. The relay still has no knowledge of your followings.
Test: 26 followings, 32k pending activities filtered down to a hundred (99.7% reduction).
The public timeline goes away as a result. #HolosDiscover will replace it with content tailored to your interests.

We were working on improving #Holos moderation features. The new rc-3 should improve your experience. You can now import your CSV block lists for accounts and instances.
The app also supports syncing with block lists with automatic updates.
When a domain is blocked, the app retroactively deletes all related content and then ignores all activities coming from it.

#HolosDiscover was built to solve a concrete problem: when you join #HolosSocial, your mobile server is empty. No posts, no accounts to find. The API provides search and trending content as a fallback for servers with no indexation yet.
We built a web UI at https://discover.holos.social using the same data, so anyone can see what's indexed without being a developer. Any Fediverse app or instance can also access it through the API.

For custom domains, #Holos currently works with CNAME, which redirects your entire domain to the relay. That's fine for a subdomain, but if you want your identity on your root domain, you probably already use it for something else.
We will add support for that. The relay will handle everything on a subdomain you dedicate to Holos, and automatically generate a webfinger file to host on your root domain. Your identity will be @you@yourdomain.com while the setup runs on a subdomain.

If you wonder how Holos works with E2EE over ActivityPub: each user publishes their public encryption keys in their Actor profile. When sending a DM, the app encrypts the message locally using Signal Protocol. The encrypted data goes in a custom ActivityPub field (signalCiphertext), the protocol allows adding extra fields to messages. The standard content field shows a placeholder. Relays only see encrypted data. The recipient's app decrypts it locally.
