Cis people are so weirdly hung up on gendering objects. Like pretty often a customer will show interest in a watch and then ask me if it's a men's or women's watch in a way that it almost feels like they're asking ME for permission to enjoy the watch. I typically default to saying that most watches are unisex but if the customer finds out what the intended demographic of a given model is it seriously affects their ultimate decision!!
And like that's so crazy! You like the watch, it's the right size for your wrist, you look good with it but you still choose not to buy it because some guy in Japan or Switzerland arbitrarily decided it's for women??? Men are allowed to wear smaller watches (tiiiiiny watches were the pinnacle of formal men's fashion historically) and women are allowed to wear larger watches. All that matters is that it isn't absurdly out of proportion relative to your wrist.

@nprofile…tnp4 A lot of the most expensive luxury watches aren't even encrusted with diamonds or anything. Often they use very basic materials like stainless steel. But they use artificial scarcity, good marketing and arbitrarily high prices to create a sense of prestige for those "in the know". At a glance, a €10,000 Rolex doesn't look too different from a €100 Lorus and most "poor peasants" won't be able to tell the difference.
No, these watches exist so that obscenely rich executives can compete in a dick measuring contest. The point is constantly one upping each other by spending increasingly absurd amounts of money on famously overpriced and hard to acquire luxury goods just to show that they can.

Casio gets brought up a lot but I think Lorus is actually underrated as hell. It's a sub-brand of Seiko which is a very highly renowned Japanese watch manufacturer known for attention to detail and quality and it shows. They have an extremely wide range of models and they're made surprisingly well given how cheap they are. You can even get some very affordable mechanical watches from them!

Fun fact: it's better to buy a cheaper watch you'll actually wear than a stupidly expensive one you'll only ever keep in a box. There are lots of well-made watches in the 50-150 euro range that will last for many years while still looking great.

@nprofile…6fd6 I added enough stuff that once it was done baking you couldn't really make out the olive oil.. well, there might have been a small hint of it but it was ok. I only substituted half of the needed oil with olive oil though.
I was worried because before it was baked the olive aroma was suuuuper strong

I'm spending the holidays with a bunch of family friends and family none of whom are vegetarian and I swear to god I think Polish people are just unable to comprehend that you can have even a single meal a day without meat. It drives me crazy honestly. And then they're gonna go "Ok today's a Friday so we won't be having meat for dinner. WE'RE GONNA HAVE FISH" My sibling in Christ how is that any different???? It's just meat but now with extra mercury!!
Istg today breakfast was sausage. Like just sausage and condiments. Lunch was 2 different types of meat and some very sad unfrozen veggies. I bet dinner will be something along the lines of sandwiches exclusively with ham. This isn't just being an omnivore this is a dietary obsession I'm sorry. Humans were never meant to eat this much meat. It is still one of the food groups that accumulates the most toxins and still not healthy for modern humans in large amounts. And it's very bad for the climate. Pls cease.
