The first wave has been won by mastodon, the second one have improved the bluesky userbase. The second wave probably contained much more users who have invested a lot of time and money to create a self-brand on twitter (and that made them reluctant to leave). For them, easing the transition in all the ways possible is obviously a major factor. <br/><br/>The exciting part is that most likely there is going to be a third way, in my opinion: big media companies, major opinion leaders and their court.
