The coldest its been here was -12 and it was still working fine, although with a long duty cycle. <br/><br/>It heats (or cools) a 2800 sqft house using 4500 watts. I suspect these new ones are much more efficient.<br/><br/>There is a resistive element which will kick in if it need to raise the temp rapidly. <br/><br/>Its a pretty standard setup around here.
