Email is something that I&#39;ve never self hosted (I&#39;ve tried ages ago). If my server goes down I can live with all my services down for sometime, but without email it could be a problem. Think what happens if your email server goes down and you&#39;re on vacation on the other side of the world: you can&#39;t even receive the boarding pass of your flight.
