I've been testing BitBlik (nprofile…ctc7) f or a while and I'm really impressed.
BitBlik makes it possible to buy Bitcoin without KYC while also enabling BTC-powered payments and cash withdrawals anywhere in Poland that accepts BLIK.
How I got it working:
You need a Polish bank account with BLIK enabled.
Opening an account online is possible, but I think visiting a branch gives you a better chance.
I went to a PKO Bank Polski branch and simply said that I needed a bank account because I frequently shop in Polish online stores and wanted to use BLIK.
I opened a Konto za Zero account without a debit card. If I wanted the card, I would have needed a Polish mailing address because the bank only sends cards to addresses in Poland.
If you apply online, they'll likely ask for proof of address. At the branch, they didn't ask me for it.
They will require a Polish phone number because it's needed to activate the banking app. I bought a prepaid SIM card for 5 PLN, activated the app, and then disabled the SIM in my phone. It isn't needed for everyday use afterward.
One important thing to understand is that you can't buy BTC whenever you want.
BitBlik is a marketplace. You can only buy Bitcoin when someone wants to spend BTC by paying with BLIK or by withdrawing cash from a Polish ATM. When a new offer appears, it's first come, first served. If you're fast enough, you accept the offer, generate a BLIK code in your banking app, confirm the payment, and a short time later the corresponding amount of BTC arrives in your wallet.
Before using BitBlik, you also need to configure a Lightning Address (username@provider). I created mine using the Misty Breez wallet.
For me, BitBlik is one of the most interesting ways to acquire Bitcoin without going through a traditional KYC exchange.
