A thread....<br/><br/>Just when I think that the last episode I watched was the best episode of Season 1, I have the same thing to say about the next episode. That is the case about this episode.....wow! Very enjoyable episode about some Teal&#39;c backstory and a family we never knew he had.<br/><br/>The attempt to remove Teal&#39;c&#39;s Goa&#39;uld larva is unsuccessful and proves that the Goa&#39;uld is Teal&#39;c&#39;s immune system. I like how Jack refers to it as &#34;Junior&#34;. <br/><br/>Jack learns that Teal&#39;c has a son (Rya&#39;c) and wife that he left behind on Chulak. Jack becomes a bit upset with Teal&#39;c for not previously disclosing this info.<br/><br/>Jack additionally learns that Rya&#39;c is about to &#34;undergo the ceremony of implantation, the Prim&#39;ta, they day when a young boy receives his frist Goa&#39;uld symbiote and becomes a true Jaffa&#34;.<br/><br/>This is something that Teal&#39;c doesn&#39;t want to happen because this is how the Goa&#39;uld enslave the Jaffa, and Teal&#39;c is adamant that is son will not become a slave to false gods.<br/><br/>Jack, Sam and Daniel try to convince Hammond to authorize a return mission to Chulak, but Hammond is suspicious of their reason and says &#34;This is not my first barbecue&#34; (great line).<br/><br/>Jack finally tells Hammond about Teal&#39;c&#39;s family and tries to convince him to authorize the mission. &#34;When Teal&#39;c saved our lives on Chulak, he gave up his family, sir. I found it giving off Ocean&#39;s 11, Tower Heist, Star Wars Rebels, Star Wars: The Bad Batch and Solo: A Star Wars Story vibes. I know that sounds weird, but I&#39;ll elaborate more on my detailed thoughts toot later (I&#39;ll watch it again a couple of times before putting this together and probably wait a few days to post this).<br/><br/>This is an action movie with a Star Trek title, and if you accept it as that, you&#39;ll have a great time watching. There are a few places where you begin to get tibits of Star Trek feels, but then it&#39;s back to the action.<br/><br/>The cast was great and I found the group of characters pretty darn interesting.<br/><br/>There were a few cringe moments for me (which I&#39;ll elaborate on later).<br/><br/>The soundtrack wasn&#39;t a typical Star Trek movie soundtrack (with the sweeping emotional ups and downs). The only place where we here the familiar theme music is at the end.<br/><br/>There are those that will say this isn&#39;t the Star Trek movie we are used to seeing and they are right. I went in with no expections whatsover and ended up really enjoying the movie.
