I only have 5 raised planter boxes and only got them going earlier this year, with a bit of winter sowing, less summer stuff as I knew we would be away for 6 weeks.<br/><br/>But the first potatoes are just starting to be ready to dig up and I&#39;m soooo happy!<br/><br/>These were the lowest effort planting of all. Old potatoes from the potato farm in #Erica (5 min down the road) had been left in their bag for months and grown... a lot. So they are local &amp; acculturated to the climate, but not seed potatoes. I just chucked them in the ground... That cultural method of passing information survived for so long before the written word was invented and became dominant (and here you are, reading this, thanks to this technology).<br/><br/>When I was a travelling in the 90s, I met a storyteller going by the name of Dorje busking in Edinburgh. He had previously been a lawyer in Lancashire, had created a room in his home that was a &#34;padded cell&#34;, and at some point decided that whole career was bullshit and he gave up everything and became a travelling storyteller. He played a small lap harp, which he had a case for and which I decorated for him. He had a partner called Abby the time, they had a dog.<br/><br/>I&#39;m wondering if this sounds familiar to anyone here in the Fediverse?
