I had no idea when I first played it, as I&amp;#39;d barely even heard about Twin Peaks then, but when I read about it years later in an interview with Takashi Tezuka, I thought yeah, I can see that now. Weird ass characters in a small town, eery atmosphere all around... that checks out. These are some of the things I like about it too so I&amp;#39;m grateful for that.

      Started working on the new &amp;#34;I swear this time it&amp;#39;s smaller&amp;#34; project, so of course as soon as I hit the more complex (to me) stuff, I started working on one of the characters. I didn&amp;#39;t like how the test renders looked, plus it&amp;#39;ll be zoomed in a bit during actual gameplay. That said it&amp;#39;ll go through a low-res render texture in Unity anyway, so. We&amp;#39;ll see.

I&amp;#39;d tried to get them to work in #Unity for a previous project, which went ok, but the scenes I&amp;#39;d made back then were very simple, just to see if I could do it. So I wanted to try and make something just a bit more elaborate for this, but I&amp;#39;d forgotten how much work that was. Not sure yet what resolution to render at when it&amp;#39;s done. It&amp;#39;s still all temporary assets, but that&amp;#39;s the general vibe at least, I like it too so that means a lot 👏😌

Simple as they are I thought this would be, well, simpler. There&amp;#39;s probably a better way to do this, but the way I&amp;#39;m making them in Blender and then importing to Unity, I have to keep them simple &amp;amp; small, no concave bits in the base outline. They also have to use vertex displacement, or else they&amp;#39;d be hovering above the terrain and getting higher as the Player moves away. Like the elderly dude&amp;#39;s house from Up. When I started the project, I quickly made the shader I needed for the terrain, to see if I could do it. I needed it to mainly do 2 things: vertex displacement (to make the world appear curved) and triplanar mapping (to avoid having to paint textures). Both things worked well enough, but not together. Went with some Voronoi noise instead. Voronoi. Voronoise o_o Still temporary I guess, but good enough for now.&lt;br/&gt;Also, I added a cloud layer, again using a noise texture. Simple, but that&amp;#39;s what I wanted for this. Now I just have to make it work with the wrap-around effect.
