I think maybe finding the right bp meds will fix it. The two I've tried I've reacted to (one anaphylactic, the other one hives and continuous asthma attacks that the inhaler did nothing to fix). Starting a new type tomorrow (hopefully, if it arrives), but it's one that'll take time to get to an effective dose. On the plus side it's supposed to help with immune stuff/allergies, adhd/cognitive stuff as well, so I am keeping my fingers crossed.

welp, my Krita is in Swedish which in itself is a challenge.

The first menu, create a new document, has menu choices in text, but the words are clipped and I can't find a way to see the entire title. Very cryptic and I don't know what those menu choices do.

I clicked create on a random one just to get a file.

I do get a mouseover name on the small icons in the left menu, but I don't know if we are talking about the same menu, and maybe not the same version of the program.

I'm sure I picked out some stuff I thought you'd like in particular but hell if I can recall that far back. There's some people who have a papershop, or rather bujo shop, online, but they're in this county, and their impulse control is worse than mine, they're fun! Also they go "uh we've been to a fair we need space here half price off all of these random things!!" so they're my main provider of paper. #fountainpen adjacent: I picked up one of the glass nibs advertised for Jinhao 82, and stuck it in one of my franken82s with a transparent cap (so I'll remember that it has a glass nib). I have quite a lot of glass dip pens but I have to admit I'm pleasantly surprised. It looked like it was going to be sharp and scratchy, but what I got was one of the most well tuned glass pens I've had out of the box, smooth and writing well at all angles. I'm used to having to tune them, this was very nice.

It wrote well until I left it untouched for two days over the weekend. Not a mark on the page. A drop of water on the nib and wiping it off was sufficient to restart it, but all those air holes definitely affect the seal negatively. Boo.

The cap is meant to post, and the heart clicks out when posted. It's a screw cap but slides on for posting. It has antichoke air holes, but there appears to be an inner cap around the nib, it'll be interesting to see what the seal is like.

The ef nib has a very soft feedback, less than a sailor, doesn't feel scratchy at all. It's ef but close to a platinum preppy fine, slightly skinnier than that. The kaco retro has a markedly narrower line.

So I picked up a cheap Kaco First fountain pen, I have several gel pens of the same brand and name and like them.

Thoughts:

It's made of matte plastic, not quite soft but not shiny. Very lightweight pen! Comes in white or black.

It came with a few cartridges, and that's good because the body is very short. I'll have to empty them out and clean them. The ink itself is very black but also very sticky an slow drying, still wet spots a minute later despite the skinny nib.

I've heard good things about Kaco Retro, and I do love Kaco gel pens, especially Kaco First (with the popup heart). So when they releared a kaco first fountain pen that's what I got, as well as the new round-ended Jinhao 82 Plus, and a limited edition jinhao 20 with rose gold metal bits, and a BRIGHT yellow (with blue shimmer) Majohn Wancai 2. I am extremely pleased about that yellow color. Only inked the Kaco First, I like it! The heart pops out when the cap is posted, otherwise hidden.

I think part of the problem is that there were dice everywhere. I've collected most of them now. I think I have 21 sets of sharps, in addition to a ridiculous number of "regular" ones. Chessex and similar are so cheap I tend to just buy the ones I want when I see them, which results in *gestures*

One thing I do every january is start a new ink log, just new pages in the same book. My system is to write out date, pen, nib, ink with the pen and ink in question as I fill them, and I try to strike them out as they get empty or cleaned out but I'm only half successful at that part, so a clean ink log with what's actually filled is a good start of the year. I do tend to have a lot of pens inked at the same time, so the log is necessary, or I won't remember. And now it is time!

The converter was empty, and the ink left in the feed decidedly light brown. I'll do some more sciencing (because yellow inks are finicky too — I'll use a blue ink to test), but preliminary findings points towards subpar cap seal. That was a disappointment, but in line with what you said.

I use the ikea gärdesgård series, with the drawers (four sets stacked in a cube-shelf) for shorter inks bottles and one of the taller boxes for the ones I have that are too tall to fit. I combine that with some slightly taller, letter sized, older cardboard boxes I have with internal partitions, but the partitions only work well with some brands, and leave unused space with most, so I am shifting to gärdesgård and will repurpose the ones with separators for other craft stuff.

my work desk is in the hallway at the top of the stairs, and next to the desk I managed to squeeze in a cupboard/shelf combo (ikea eket), my ink lives there along with a lot of related stuff. But unless we start adding shelves above the tv we are out of space to put things after the dresser gets its shelf companion.
