It took a lot of time, research and t&amp;e. I had Ubuntu originally, and it&#39;s worse. The version I had couldn&#39;t be upgraded, so I switched to Mint, whose upgrade is possible - with more work. I decided to keep the version I have for now. Mint does what I need, but I haven&#39;t switched from Win8, as I wanted to. I have Mint on a second computer. It was a bear to install on a new hard drive, because the computer had been set up for Win10, and BIOS settings had to be changed. It still loads very slowly, so must look at Bios again. Otherwise, I like Mint very much, but upgrade to latest, I hear, is fraught. This is why people get turned off by Linux.
