Having some knowledge about matters that affect everybody is a prerequisite of a functional democracy though.&lt;br/&gt;TBH I don&amp;#39;t understand your aggressiveness here, I would be super happy if everyone moved away from WhatsApp and used delta chat. I prefer #XMPP but the nice thing about open protocols is that it&amp;#39;s easy to make gateways between them. I know literally zero person that use deltachat though ATM.

People are not stupid. Big Tech has many incentive to keep people in the dark. My sample size is obviously ridiculous but it is day and night how easily I get people to go through the SMS validation flow they&amp;#39;re used to vs an invitation to my self-hosted server. But of course, 100euros a month is a lot. :-(
