Because it implies, that everyone (people) who currently is also buying BTC would need to stop.
But why would they stop if their goal is to "buy it to save for retirement in 30 years"?

Or why would people who speculate on rising price in 10 years stop buying now, unless they see the price rise to say $ 100.000.000 and think "oh, now's actually a good time to sell, I've reached my goals"?

But I doubt that whales will just hold onto their BTC through all time.
I instead assume that at different increasing valuations, most large holders will eventually become sellers of at least a part of their stash.

Because the value is at some point so high (measured in touchable goods), that possession of some of the touchable goods is more valuable than keeping _all_ BTC.

And because Bitcoin (thankfully) doesn't earn interest, anyone that wants to benefit from the increased value by having some touchable goods _must_ spend.

Sure, we can assume, most whales/rich folks usually have other sources of capital/income to spend on buying stuff, but if they never sell BTC, they never actually benefit from its increased value, right?

And as to the scheme of dumping and crashing the price and buying back at a lower price, is there evidence of that actually working?
I mean, as long as there are many stubborn DCA'ers out there who just don't stop buying, they should set a pretty solid price floor and they also stack more when the price drops and they DCA for constant amount of fiat/time.

The scaling problem is undeniable.

The identity/key compromised scenario OTOH seems effectively the same as with nostr.

When your key is nsec is compromised, an attacker can continue to push notes to relays forever, can't they.

To continue with another identity, a SSB user would have to create a backup identity BEFORE being compromised and publish that through the primary identity (then every peer can check that out and start following the backup identity) .. and then use it in case of primary identity compromised.
Not different from what you'd do with Nostr, right.

Hab seinen Post nicht so absolut verstanden, also wie "ich will 0 Steuern und 0 Staat".

Es ist doch durchaus ein vernünftiges Anliegen, die erreichten technologischen Effizienzgewinne privat so zu nutzen, dass man bei ähnlichem materiellem Wohlstand mehr Zeit für andere Dinge als Erwerbsarbeit hat.
Aber genau das zu tun, ist für viele Menschen trotz aller Effizienzgewinne scheinbar kaum noch möglich im jetzigen System.

Die unaufhaltsame Verteuerung aller lebensnotwendigen Güter ist ein Grund warum die meisten Menschen eben nicht die Option haben, weniger zu arbeiten und trotzdem noch ok zu leben.

Und diese Verteuerung hat System und geschieht absichtsvoll.
Einerseits durch unsinnige Energiepolitik. Dieser Effekt ist hoffentlich unbeabsichtigt und Ignoranz/Ideologie geschuldet.
Andererseits durch Geldpolitik.
Das sagen Zentralbanker sogar explizit.

Das jetzige System zwingt die Menschen qua Teuerung dazu, immer mehr zu arbeiten. Trotz besagter technologischer Effizienzgewinne.
Soweit mir bekannt, ist die Zahl der Arbeitsstunden bezogen auf die Zahl der Erwerbsfähigen in den letzten Jahrzehnten gestiegen.

At one point you discuss what solutions to the problem of the financial complex running the world could be.

You didn't discuss a solution that seems pretty straightforward to me.
(I'm not claiming it's easy to implement, but rather that one should be able to prove that it does work.)

Here it is:
A majority of people need to understand that complexity is an enemy. Political complexity, financial complexity and also digital/technological complexity.

Why? Because the more complex the world is, the more obscure mechanisms exist to allow the financial complex to pull the strings with most people not being aware and not being able to do anything about it.

So we need simple political systems where people understand the consequences of their actions/decisions. Only then are even able to make decisions that reliably benefit themselves.
If the world is (unnecessarily) complex, then people can't even know what's good for them and what's not and what's only good for the elites.

Just one good example IMO is the element of randomness that was used it ancient Greece where they elected politicians based on chance. This made it harder for social networking as we have it today with the political parties to capture individual politicians and build power structures that reign from the background.
Election by lot is simple and people can easily understand how it works. Nothing obscure about it. No hidden networks influencing (corruption/blackmail/..) who gets the seat.

People need to understand that high complexity creates opportunities for powerful entities with great resources to game the system in ways that the individual cannot game the system because the don't have the resources to understand and game.
So simplicity is imperfect but good for the people.

The best way to fight is:
Use services via websites & browser.

The principle: use it or lose it.

You _have_ to give companies a financial incentive to keep services accessible via websites.
You _have_ to give managers statistics that say: we've had 30 % of interactions with our service via the website, we cannot lose this.

If people 95 % opt for the App, because "muh, App has so much better UI/UX than browser" they'll turn off websites as soon as they can.

Same goes for websites working with Firefox/derivatives: if you want maintainers to make sure their websites work well with FF, you have to use FF and thus flood their servers with your FF user agent.
If shops risk missing revenue by their website not working for people with buying power .. they will make sure their site works with the browser.

Been surrounded by those lamps for years .. sleep just fine.

The AI companies are probably trying to just keep their heads above the water until they succeed in making other businesses depend on AI enough so that they can charge/blackmail enough monthly fees out of it.
