I dunno how a guy like that managed to get a CS degree (According to his github) and still act like software isn't something that just gets copied and distributed at all times. Not to mention his whole change of license gimmick that got him angry because people were doing forks, acting like he's not on github. It's as if he doesn't really know how it works, despite having a CS degree.

This system was eventually dismantled starting in the 80s to leave people an unqualified lot after high school, and then either go to college or be little better than an high school dropouts. With so many firms shipping jobs overseas, besides, there wasn't much room for vocational training anyway, thus everyone and their brother went into tech/IT, business, law school, liberal arts

Those that couldn', either shipped themselves to the coasts being outcompeted by foreigners, or stay rotting in their rust belt town

Compared to your average USA resident, you would only qualify for mid credit score (Yes, most cases you actually have to score credit, and repay it to get a good credit score. Simply not being in debt is not enough to get you into high tier credit score)

Remember also that Germany has a somewhat more diverse web of credit institutes. There are still plenty of smaller time credit institutes that find acceptable lending to individuals and small business, since they can't compete with the big boys. Regulation separating lending/saving institutes from investment institutes helps, and may be in place.

In the USA, small time credit institutes have basically all been consolidated into larger ones. Those simply like investing into big ventures, and give individuals or small businesses ridiculous requirements which usually they can't afford. Add to this that in the USA you basically need a car, and a phone, and public services are poor if not paid for, and then you understand

In short: you wouldn't have gotten an house loan in the USA, even if you somehow had a fully paid for car and such.

It's "directories", in the sense that a filesystem indexes files in a dimensionally-vertical manner.

When GUIs came around, little icons of folders were used to represent those dimensions, since that's what clerks would have been familiar with. But they could have used little doors instead, or boxes, or matryoshkas as icons and it would work just as well (I'd argue boxes would work better)

So, yeah, the self-serving media literacy test about folders reveals you never saw a CLI in your life, but you go around the Internet saying that kids nowadays don't know what folders are. I imagine they're the same guys that " Know computers since the Apple 2"

Banking apps and the like also are given a special treatment, being given access to the SafetyNet API (Now obsolete) or the newer Play Integrity API to be given a rundown of what is going on the system.

So, just use GrapheneOS (Which enforces sandboxing on Google Play Services, although some apps may fingerprint and ban it) or have a secondary phone for certain tasks.
