I could see the waxing moon through a veil of clouds. As we walked, I watched the darker clouds creep up and engulf the light. <br/><br/>We are expecting rain in the next few hours. I won&#39;t appreciate any more hatching mosquitoes but the land will appreciate the water - and that&#39;s what&#39;s important.<br/><br/>The temperature today soared up to 90°F (32°C) with a dewpoint in the mid 60s. When I first moved to western Massachusetts in the 1990s this kind of weather was unheard of in the summer. Now it&#39;s the norm.<br/><br/>We spent most of the day inside with short walks for Sadie to do her business. Every time we encountered the shade of a tree, she would lie down in the cool grass.
