FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: We updated our Terms of Service. Any people meeting on Mastodon and exchanging money must happen through the Dave Rupert LLC app. For years we've let you post your cool content on the internet and that's a huge part of how we've grown, but now we want a cut. No one likes the term "forced compliance" but if you are sharing personal information like email addresses or URLs, let's call it an "automatic update".

Oof. Haven’t messed with JSR, sounds yikes. Also share the disappointment that they reverted on the “packages are just URLs” principle.

I think what’s interesting about a standard lib is that the more we can solve common problems in a uniform way the better. Node had a lot of “standard” modules (e.g. fs) that were good but not super portable and often ahead of language standards (e.g. require).

I guess I’m pro cow-path-paving wherever possible.
