For years, a massive decentralized network of neighborhood councils known as Resistance Committees has existed in the lands ruled by the state of Sudan. Anarchists in Sudan have been active participants in these Resistance Committees, surviving against all odds through a brutal civil war, as armed factions compete for power.

Comrades at the Dugout Podcast, a Black anarchist media project based in the US, have created a fundraiser to get money directly to anarchists in Sudan. These Sudanese anarchists are building people’s power from below, through mutual aid initiatives, food distribution networks and medical clinics. This is an ongoing fundraiser intended for the long term support of anarchist organizing in Sudan. Donate individually, share within your networks or organize a fundraising event in your community.

Not to mention a veritable glut of riots, uprisings and other moments of insurrectionary rupture. And we’ve been busy distilling this high-octane footage into a refined, uncut, revolutionary analysis, ideal for projecting on the walls of finer squats and social spaces. So we're thrilled to announce that this November and December, as civilization continues to explode in a fiery spectacular shitstorm, the subMedia crew will be once again returning to the European subcontinent - to connect with rad people and organizations; learn about rad spaces and projects; host rad screenings and workshops; and burn that circle-A shit into our host's eye-holes. We’ll be coming equipped with some classics from the vault, and reels from our newest documentary series InterRebellium. And to make things even sweeter, we'll be joined on the first leg of the tour by one of our favourite anarchist rappers, Lee Reed. We don’t get over to Europe often. "We, in the Anarchist Group, call on comrades everywhere: the time has come to gather and stand with us against this destructive authoritarian war. We must raise awareness across the world about the mass
extermination being carried out by the Rapid Support Forces militias — supported by the United Arab Emirates - which are turning their guns toward ethnic cleansing and genocide on racial grounds for the sake of vicious imperialist interests seeking to control resources and gold in exchange for blood. The world must not stand by and watch us in silence. Revolutionaries everywhere must know of our sacrifices and our struggle against savage capitalist terror, against the bloody authority, and against systematic ethnic cleansing.

We in the Anarchist Group in Sudan have lost comrades; some of our members were injured and some died; others face the imminent danger of war. Our families suffer from hunger, lack of medicine, and lack of food. We believed in anarchism in a land where authority is everywhere, and we fought to defend ourselves, our idea, and our unity. The third and final installment of the series seeks to bring the lessons learned in the first two episodes home. This segment features an interview with Peter Gelderloos in which he describes his experience working to build transformative infrastructure in Catalunya.

Not all of us are so lucky to live near a large and organized movement like those described in part two, and that’s ok. For us to be truly organized as a global community, we need do work wherever we are. As Neto reminds us in part two, “We need to start from where we're standing and from a reality that we recognize.” There are no answers, only strategies. This video seeks to provide guidance to anarchists just getting started organizing around the climate crisis. Different strategies work in different locales, social conditions and contexts.

Peter shares three urgent suggestions for those looking to organize around these issues:

Urgent Suggestion #1: A complete and Total Rejection of All the Institutions Responsible for This Disaster

Relying on those responsible for this crisis to save us is the worst thing we can do. It's time to act collectively outside of the state and capital's stranglehold over our lives to try to carve out spaces and networks that will give us the best possible chances of survival. Relying on nonprofits, elections, or authoritarian left movements has failed time and time again. We cannot afford to continue to misplace our trust in institutions that will not save us.

Urgent Suggestion #2: Pick a Project of Transformative Survival

The hour is seriously late. The sooner we get involved in organizing for survival, the better. If people in the territories you reside in are already working towards similar goals, it may be better to join them than to try and build a movement from the ground up. Sometimes we need to create new projects where there is a need for them and people willing to get them going. Building our collective autonomy may not appear to be directly related to our chances at surviving the climate crises, but it is! Any time we build our collective power outside of the state and capital we build power that is combative to the institutions that created this disaster, and that gives us the means to survive it.

Urgent Suggestion #3: Connect your project to a revolutionary web of solidarity

The climate crisis is a worldwide issue. We need to have a global response. Networks of people organizing around these issues exist all over around the world. We need to build an international web of solidarity and the more connections a web has, the stronger it will be.

Now is the time to build structures that can withstand the storms of tomorrow. Now is the time to extend and consolidate our connections. Our respective circumstances will continue to deteriorate, but tipping points of all kinds will create opportunities for change that we can turn to our advantage, provided we are ready. Every step we take, every obstacle we overcome, brings us a little closer to significant victories … victories that can offer some comfort to the souls of those we have lost in battle, who are waiting to rest in peace.

We are aware of the magnitude of the task. We are learning from the failures of our elders. We know the many threats we face. The odds are not in our favour. Perhaps we will not turn the tide, become that tsunami.

We, the Anarchist Front of Iran and Afghanistan, once again reaffirm our unwavering and principled stance:

Every war-at any scale and under any pretext-that is initiated or prolonged by states is to be unequivocally condemned.

States, regardless of their form or appearance, utilize war as an instrument for survival and control. And in this process, it is the lives, dignity, and futures of ordinary people that are trampled underfoot.

At a time when the world is once more engulfed by violence, bombings, death, displacement, and insecurity, we insist on this enduring truth: the true victims of war are always the people-not the states, not ideologies, not borders.

Our struggle, as ever, is not for the redistribution of power among elites, but against the very institution of the state and all forms of organized domination.

We stand in solidarity-with care and resolve-alongside the people of Iran, Afghanistan, and the broader region.

What we are witnessing today is, on one hand, the blatant crimes of the Israeli regime, which targets civilians in Gaza and elsewhere with savage brutality. On the other hand, we see the Islamic Republic of Iran manipulating public fear, playing geopolitical games at the cost of Iranian lives, and forcing the burden of war upon society.

We see the Islamic Republic not merely as a regional warmonger, but as part of a global chain of domination and repression-a regime that for decades has assaulted the Iranian people with censorship, poverty, imprisonment, torture, and execution, and recklessly endangers millions through its military provocations.

While we condemn the atrocities of the Zionist regime in the strongest terms, we also declare that the struggle against the Islamic Republic is part of our broader fight against all states and structures of domination-a struggle that will persist.

We fight for a world without borders without states, without armies or authoritarianism-a world in which humanity, life and freedom are placed at the center. Our primary war has always been the war against political authoritarianism, totalitarianism and the state itself.

InterRebellium #1 : El Estallido Social

En octubre de 2019, las protestas contra una subida de las tarifas de transporte en Santiago estallaron en una insurrección a escala nacional contra el Estado chileno. Durante seis meses, las calles se transformaron en vibrantes laboratorios de autoorganización, creatividad y resistencia, antes de ser finalmente despejadas por la promesa de una nueva constitución y la propagación de una pandemia global.

En la primera parte de Interrebellium, subMedia recorre la historia del Estallido Social a través de las experiencias de primera mano de sus participantes, que comparten tácticas callejeras probadas en combate y duras lecciones sobre hasta dónde puede llegar el Estado para reprimir y recuperar los desafíos a su dominio.

On December 8th 2024, Bashar al-Assad boarded a Russian military plane, and flew away into exile. His hasty, ignoble retreat marked the surreal culmination of the most brutal and bloody struggle of the Arab Spring. The fulfillment of a revolutionary demand scrawled by children on the walls of Daraa nearly fourteen years ago: الشعب يريد إسقاط النظام // the people want the fall of the regime.

In the wake of that regime’s fall, and the capture of state power by a coalition of rebel forces led by Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, the world has been forced to come to terms with the distorted legacy of a revolution they never supported. As the scale of the Assad regime’s crimes begin to come to light, and Syrians celebrate the end of a collective decades-long nightmare, much of the Western left continues to subordinate the lived experiences and struggles of Syrians to their own political biases and limited worldviews.

We have begun work on the first episode of InterRebellium which we hope to release this fall. We’re beyond stoked to be making these connections and collaborating with anarchists around the globe for this project.

We’re still looking for collaborators with videography skills in all of the countries so please don’t stop sharing within your trusted networks or if this sounds like you get in touch through crew [at] sub [dot] media or on any of our social media accounts.

This project seeks to tell the story and examine the lessons learned from the global wave of uprisings from late 2018 through 2020. We hope to interview participants in these struggles to elevate the voices most qualified to tell these stories. It’s our hope that by spreading this knowledge on a global platform and to a new generation of militants we can be better prepared for the next one.

With the money raised we have already purchased some gear for comrades on location and in the diaspora of the country of the first episode and they will be filming some interviews this week. In the meantime we’ll be compiling footage.
