I’ve used Windows, Linux, and Mac and I’m fine with learning curves. I actually prefer the Mac’s use of command as the primary modifier key rather than control, and if I ever heavily use Windows or Linux again I’ll look for a way to emulate that.
Tbf, I never had a universal clipboard before I started using Apple products. I just don’t like that something they promote doesn’t work so often. But mostly I’m happy with MacBooks and okay with iPhones.

I was fine with that when I used Linux as my main OS, but no one ever promised that “it just works” because the OS and hardware were so tightly integrated.

I found the command below on Reddit and it appears to be helping (seems to work better with a cut than a copy).
But you know that stereotype that Linux is too hard to use because you have to go looking for terminal commands on forums?

I hate how unreliable the universal clipboard is on #macos and #ios. For a feature that #Apple promotes as one of the benefits and conveniences of using its devices and operating systems, this “unpredictably works for a while then doesn’t work for a while until it does again” behavior is unacceptable.

This is great news, but unfortunately it doesn’t look like there’s a bulk export option, so #Apple Notes still has a major lock-in problem.
And the more notes you have in it the worse it gets. Fortunately there’s #Obsidian Importer https://help.obsidian.md/plugins/importer

You can achieve the same result and maintain compatibility with any markdown editor by putting two spaces at the end of every line, which adds a hard break

Arguably the closest thing to them now are Chromebooks: cheap laptops with limited capabilities for basic uses.
