This year's modest crop of ginger—my first since Mieko passed away. The plants barely survived in the summer heat, and only a minority among the dozen plants produced significantly, but OTOH although I just stumbled in ignorance through the planting, they grew (!). I'm pretty happy to see a result, and next year I'll study up properly and do a better job at soil prep.

Now to begin baking carrot cake to sweeten the New Year correspondence...
