people i know have said these two things
they think seeing has something to do with our eyes when it's is actually something our brain does. sight is what your brain says information looks like. our eyes have limited sensing capability, but we can extend those senses with devices that can perceive and process more, and different, information for us to receive. senses are extensible. in the end it's all information.
mostly, though, i think many people like to embrace human limitations because it lowers expectations and creates an excuse to live a simple, low-agency life.
