That's a tricky projection. In the UK, we are a small enough country that public transport could have been expanded to reach all but the most remote areas.

The US, Australia, and other large countries, especially those with large rural areas, would have had much greater difficulty in providing sufficient transport for those living outside cities and towns.

Would this have been fair to those people living there?
