Not that it would be necessarily any cheaper to self-host but I could very easily just spin this on my Mastodon instance's server in Docker and not think about it.
It would be sad when it does down/slows down but also... I'm not running a business, i don't need it to be 100% reliable, which also a thing I'm trying to (re)learn because of my whole "my website needs to be PERFECT and GOOD and FAST and—" self-imposed mentality i had for so long
