It certainly is a broad spectrum. "Aspergers" was at the "Lower" end once upon a time, no longer though (That's where I categorise myelself btw). That is a "High functioning Autist"). We have skills man. We take no bull-shit, we see things as they really are. Don't get me wrong, I'm not "Severely" Autistic, my step grandson is though. I have very very little patience, but I have all the time in the world for that little man, his brain is unique. Well, not quite unique, he's severely Autistic, but if you know somebody who is, you'll know what I mean.
