Hey Beth on Nostr: Disney and DeSantis. Last year, we watched a Disney movie, and there was something ...
Disney and DeSantis.
Last year, we watched a Disney movie, and there was something that I felt uncomfortable with.
Afterward, I asked my kids a few questions, realized they were oblivious, and dropped the subject. However, I did talk with my husband, and we agreed that the kids shouldn't watch the movie again.
What we did not do is rail against Disney, launch a protest, boycott the company and its products, and insist that somehow Disney was usurping our role and rights as parents. That last one being stupid as I have just outlined how I, as a parent, decided with my husband, the other parent, to not expose our kids to the movie again.
Bob Iger has been delightful. He has done nothing to challenge my role and rights as a parent. In fact, he really seems to get this idea of parent choice. His company has a product that I choose not to use, and he appear to be OK with it.
Ron DeSantis, on the other hand, seems really angry that a lot of us parents don't like what he is selling.
He's such an ass.
