I follow the gardening hashtags which are wonderful in times like this. Knitting hashtags are also good if that is your thing. I filter a lot of the political words but a couple of months ago I found that I just had too many filtered messages which was rather depressing. So I examined who was sending and resending the messages and stopped following those few people.
Message is: think before sending or resending messages. Are we just making more people miserable rather than taking action to make you little patch happier? We all know the world is going through difficult times. We are all adults and can find out more about the state of the world if we wish. We don't need people to retell and moan and groan about it.
This is not encouragement for toxic positivity. I try to find a balance and occasionally share personal difficulties that are not private. But I generally try to share gardening, a little bit of tech news and perhaps what I am doing to help improve things for people in my little patch.
I have found a lovely group of people on here. And shoutout to Richard Rollinson (npub1fqf…ajkk) for how he is fostering a lovely network of gardeners around the world.
