I can read and write reasonably competently, but verbal skills need time among native speakers. I decided years ago to do something to keep my mind active, so spent 3 years in night classes and have kept going since by stocking up on books in Greek each Christmas. I could survive if dropped into an area of Greece with no English speakers.
